Ruth Laurine Marie HANSEN was born in Eugene, Oregon in 1903, the daughter of Peder Lauritz Christian HANSEN and Marie JOHNSON. Ruth married James Winfield Floyd ERVIN in 1928 in Oakland, California.
In 1931, they were living on Irving Street in San Francisco. Floyd was a partner in the firm of Ervin & Hider Battery & Electrical located at 19th Avenue and Lincoln Way in San Francisco. Ruth worked for the California Casualty Insurance Exchange.
One child was born of this marriage, James Arthur ERVIN. In 1934, Floyd James ERVIN died leaving a widow and one child.
